Start or Continue Your Application

To begin an online application for ASJA membership, you are required to login.  If you do not already have an account with us, please click here to create your account and purchase the application fee and membership dues.  Once you purchase the application fee and membership dues,  the application form will be emailed to you. If your membership is deferred, a refund will be processed 5-7 business days after being notified about your membership status.  A price breakdown is included below. With your ID and Password you can come back as many times as you want to add or change information before final submission.

$25 membership application fee (non-refundable) 
$50 membership initiation fee (refundable) 
$235 membership dues (refundable) 

The Membership Review Committee looks at applications the first Monday of every month at 4 p.m. You will be notified of your status two weeks later by the Membership Manager.

You will be directed back to the application submission page after you have completed your purchase. Complete the application with the information requested, and submit URLs for any clips and other documentation that can be viewed online. Amazon links for books are fine; links to your own website are also acceptable if your credits are accessible there. (Note: You can save your application and return as many times as you need to before submitting.)

A note on the process: Each application receives thoughtful consideration by our Membership Committee. In addition, general information about each applicant will be shared with our current membership, a process that ensures adherence to high qualification standards. The entire process may take up to six weeks and we greatly appreciate your patience.

All applications must be sent electronically. To submit clips or credits that are not available online, please so specify in the online application and e-mail your clips in PDF form to membership--at--asja.org in PDF format. 

The Membership Review Committee looks at applications on the first Monday of every month by 3 p.m. ET. The Membership Review Committee takes one week to review applications and communicates their decision to staff on the following Monday.  Staff uploads the accepted members to Constant Contact and sends the list to members on Tuesday for their information. As per the society bylaws, members have one week to view the prospective members.  ASJA Staff will reach out with your membership status by  the 4th week of each month.
